Eternal Father, I humbly adore Thee, and thank Thee for having created me, and for having redeemed me through Jesus Christ. I thank Thee most sincerely for having made me a Christian, by giving me the true faith, and by adopting me as Thy son, in the sacrament of baptism. I thank Thee for having, after the numberless sins I had committed, waited for my repentance, and for having pardoned (as I humbly hope) all the offences which I have offered to Thee, and for which I am now sincerely sorry, …

Read MoreA recent study by NASA and the University of Arizona has revealed a surprising discovery about the Moon’s interior. Researchers found a layer of low-viscosity “goo” between the Moon’s rocky mantle and its metal core. This goo moves up and down beneath the surface, similar to ocean tides on Earth. They believe this movement is driven by the gravitational forces of the Earth and the Sun, reports futurism.com. “Just like the Moon raises tides on the Earth, the Earth (and Sun) raise tides on the Moon,” the study explains. Published in AGU Advances, the research provides the “first measurement of…

Read MoreWe’ve all heard of bridezillas, and some of us have encountered them in real life. It’s easy to think of a bridezilla as an unrepentant and unreasonable monster who wants it her way or the highway, no matter how unreasonable her way is. While those brides do exist, it’s much more likely for a bride to be unreasonable for a reason that’s sympathetic if you know the context. Maybe a million family members are whispering in her ear, telling her that her wedding has to be perfect, or else. She might’ve spent her life’s savings on this one day, and anything short of exactly what she wants would feel like an absurd waste of money. Or perhaps she’s feeling bad about her self-image and doesn’t want there to be photos of her big day because of how insecure she’s feeling. As unusual as it sounds, the latter scenario is what happened to this bride.
Let’s face it, a lot of life is simply quite boring. We wake up every day, go to work, go home, make dinner, check the same three websites, do the dishes or the laundry (there are always dishes or laundry), then go to bed. Sure, there are plenty of things I’m missing out here, but the point is the monotony—if we don’t want it to eat us alive, we have to have some tricks up our sleeve to keep things interesting. That is, of course, where the wonderful distraction of memes comes in. They may often be dealing with mundane topics, but they’re also entertaining enough to make it seem like that is more than acceptable. Boredom can be banished with a simple scroll, or at the very least, it can be postponed. How great that we get to live in a time where such a thing is possible.
