For Expectant Mothers: Prayer of the Day for Saturday, October 26, 2024 #Pray

Almighty and everlasting God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, you prepared the body of the Virgin Mary to be a worthy dwelling place of your divine son. You sanctified St. John the Baptist, while still in his mother’s womb. Listen now to my prayer. Through the intercession of St. Gerard, watch over my child and me; protect us at the time of delivery. May my child receive the saving graces of Baptism, lead a Christian life, and, together with all the members of our family, attain …

Do you remember when being quirky was a valuable quality in a person? In the early 2010s, wearing colorful color-blocked tights and dresses with nerd glasses was one of the coolest things a young woman could do with herself. Remember when Zoey Deschanel and Lena Dunham were the it-girls of the moment? I miss that so badly. It feels like a lifetime ago when the way to be cool was by being a little bit uncool. These days, everybody is too cool for school. If you are wearing clothes that are a little too 2022, someone can and will clock you on that. The only way out of the endless cycles of trend chasing and fast fashion is to embrace the long-lost quirk. Wear that sweater from approximately 1997 that is not cute now and has never been cute! Share quirky memes on your Facebook feed! The world is your oyster.

Mom refuses to take 18-year-old daughter to doctor when she’s been sick for a month, refuses to give her necessary document to go to doctor herself: ‘She started crying saying that how could I go against her better judgements’ #Fun

Every illness requires a different level of medical intervention. If every citizen showed up in the emergency room every time you stub your toe, the medical system, as we know it, would collapse. On the flip side, if you refuse to let your kids see a doctor on the grounds of your religious beliefs, no matter how sick they are, you’re probably not a very good parent.

It’s a good rule of thumb that you should seek medical advice if your condition has worsened in the week since you first started having symptoms. The young woman in this story probably should’ve sought treatment 3 weeks ago, but her mother keeps trying to stop her. After a week of what was seemingly just a regular cold, she started coughing so hard that it triggered her gag reflex. A week later, she started running a fever and couldn’t sleep through the next because of her cough, and even then, her mom forbade her from going to a doctor.

LA Times Staff Resigns After Being Asked To Publish Facts #BabylonBee

LOS ANGELES, CA — After being in business for 143 years, The Los Angeles Times is shutting its doors because its entire staff resigned in protest after being asked to publish factual information. Provoked by a new editor-in-chief who thought newspapers were supposed to report facts, several senior reporters banded together to rally everyone to quit their jobs and do literally anything else. "I’ve wanted to be a reporter for as long as I could remember," said former political correspondent Iago Mendax. "But telling the truth? What does that have to do with reporting?" Several former employees had already accepted jobs at The New York Times and The National Enquirer, where they hoped their efforts to dispel the truth would be appreciated. Others were considering this an early retirement. "I think I’m just going to lie in my free time," said Jezebel Countercross, who formerly worked the crime beat. "I think it will be nice to just spend more time deceiving my friends and family." At publishing time, every single former employee had been sued for libel.
