<p>Father Hernan Cely, St. Vincent’s pastor, led the walk kick-off prayer for the event, which raised more than $7,000 from generous sponsors and donors, including many local businesses and organizations, to support St. Vincent’s sister parish, St. Paul in Nanpol in Haiti. This year, the funds will primarily support the school and meal program serving more than 130 schoolchildren.</p>
<p>Since 2017, the Haiti’s Hope Ministry at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in the Stirling neighborhood of Long Hill Township , N.J., has funded the installation of a solar-powered water pump filtration system, helped construct and operate a school, and started a school meal program.</p>
